A Real Alaskan Legend
Legends owner, Walt Warner, began his flying career while serving as a United States Marine. In 1979, Walt piloted his small Cessna aircraft from Montana to Alaska with a back pack, 2 rifles and $500. He worked in remote bush camps in the summer and earned his advanced pilot ratings in the off months.
He married his sweetheart, Bonnie in 1981 and they opened flight schools in Anchorage and Wasilla. Walt worked as a regional airline captain in Alaska for many years, traveling most of the State.
Walt and Bonnie founded Legends Aviation in Willow where they have lived since 1992 and raised their 9 children. They teach flying lessons, conduct flight tours and serve bush customers in cabins, lodges and remote camps. They are the life line to many people whose only practical mode of transportation is by bush plane; landing on gravel bars, beaches, lakes, snow and un- improved airstrips.
