Land On An Alaska Glacier
In the right conditions, an Alaska glacier landing is possible on the upper Knik and Lake George glaciers with ski equipped aircraft. Landings at the toe of the Knik glacier in a bush plane equipped with large tundra tires are generally always an option. There’s nothing like being up close and personal to ice flows that are thousands of year old. Hear the cracking ice and see large ice bergs calving off and splashing into the lake. An Alaska glacier landing is a memory of a lifetime!
See Alaska Glaciers With Us – Amazing!
We land on a gravel bar at the terminal moraine and hike about 10 minutes to outer Lake George and explore the ice bergs and the face of the Knik glacier across the glacier lake. Surrounded by high mountains with the Knik and Colony glaciers in full view, endless ice bergs and wild flowers, make this an up close and personal experience of a life time.
Maximum passengers for any glacier landing is three. The gravel bar landing at the Knik glacier is three to five passengers.
Prices – $150 landing fee for the plane load for any landing in addition to the price of the glacier tour you choose. No landings are available for Denali flightseeing tours.
