This flight departs the historic Willow, Alaska airport in full view of Denali to the north then turns east along the foothills of the Talkeetna Mountains toward the Chugach Mountains where the Knik Glacier is located. The flight follows the Knik river valley with the towering peaks of the Chugach Mountains on both sides with the mighty Knik glacier at the head of the valley.

Colony Glacier Flight Tours

These Alaska glacier tours depart the Willow, Alaska airport and follows the same initial route as the Knik tour, up the Knik river valley and through the gorge to inner Lake George. This is a huge glacier lake formed by the Colony glacier at its toe. Huge ice bergs calve off this massive glacier and into the lake. The ice bergs generally have a deep blue color phase. Depending on conditions, the lake at Colony Glacier can be choked with large ice bergs.
